Maddie is an illustrator and Risograph printer whose work grew out of New York City’s comedy scene, where she created posters and flyers for many live shows. With these roots in performance, her practice centers on playfulness, character development, humor, and audience engagement. Her influences range from medieval manuscript illumination to mid-century graphic design, as well as the natural world and its many creatures. Some of her clients include the New York Times, The Atlantic, The Guardian, National Geographic and Modest Mouse. She currently spends her days obsessively drawing and Risograph printing in NYC.
