When I began working with glass, I spent countless hours studying and perfecting traditional glass making techniques to learn everything I could about this incredible material. After working with a diverse body of glass makers from around the world I've tried to distill that knowledge and re-approach the bounds of what can be made in glass while simultaneously honoring the traditions that formed my practice. In the copper and glass work I'm currently producing, Venetian glass blowing techniques are combined with copper plumbing elements while the glass is hot to form a permanent bond. After cooling, the copper elements are treated and refined to bring out their natural elegance.
