I'm an Alabama-based ceramic artist and illustrator. I earned my Master’s degree in Ceramics from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and my Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from the University of South Alabama. I was selected as one of Ceramics Monthly's 2023 Emerging Artists, have been a Resident Artist at a few of the US’s prominent craft schools, have been showing my work nationally for over ten years, and have been published in multiple books and magazine. I make my artwork out of my home studio with the help of my feline assistant, I am married to my best friend, and I have a few chronic illnesses.

My artwork explores my notions of identity, health, and life to discuss universal experiences. I use a personal vocabulary of imagery and symbolism to illustrate open narratives that invite viewers to imagine their own stories and relationships. I draw inspiration from many things, including: historical artworks and folktales; contemporary illustration, animation, and tattoos; women's history; and my personal experiences. Flowers also play a large role in my work. They have rich historical correlations to communication, and brief, beautiful life cycles that remind us to appreciate life and acknowledge death.

I create my ceramic works out of mid-range porcelain using hand-building techniques, and I hand-paint my illustrations onto their surfaces with underglazes and glazes.
