LARRY DANIEL

I am inspired by the infinite colors and patterns in wood. The most satisfying moment in woodturning is when the finish goes on and starts to bring out the full richness of the wood. This inspiration leads me to search for woods that have a rich visual interest. This includes exotic woods from wood suppliers but the most satisfying thing is finding local woods that have unusual grain patterns or spalting. I am fortunate to have friends who have sawmills and access to trees. Also, I have been known to use limbs that fall in my yard. The beauty is in there, one just needs to find ways to put it on display.
