These are densely- layered color fields, large-scale abstract gestural paintings that are built up through layers of acrylic paint, graphite, ink and tape on canvas. The subject matter derives from photographs, complicated interiors, exteriors, maps and landscapes achieving a calligraphic complexity that resembles dense social environments.

During the pandemic, I made art on daily basis about mundane tasks. For example, I spent time over the last year fixing things around the house, changing lightbulbs and even climbing on the roof to blow off the leaves. Here’s a series of works I created to represent the basic things I did or used to pass the time including the games I played with my kids.
