I have always been intrigued by light and how it defines all that we see. Light produces color and all the varying palettes, patterns, and contrasts that make up our world. Light and color make the everyday extraordinary. I like to think that my art is a distillation of that inspiration.
Most recently, I enjoy working with common man-made objects as my subject, and reimagining them into something deserving of your attention. Starting with a photograph I’ve taken I work digitally, progressing until a complex multilayered, yet simple looking, graphic emerges. The end result is vibrant, and rich, at times garish, but most important, fun and whimsical. Through the use of bold color palettes and simple shapes I aim to make my work unexpected, lighthearted and entertaining in a positive way.
