Simply stated, I make things. This is crucial to my being; it feeds my soul, and
informs my place in the world. Being drawn to the ephemeral, I have often used motion in my work. In this way I explore the relationship between action and temporality, what happens between one moment and the next.

Inspired by North Carolina folk artists such as Vollis Simpson, I currently create
kinetic, wind-activated pieces from up-cycled aluminum cans. I find it deeply
satisfying to create treasures from discarded trash, and to see people smile when
they see my works in motion. Each whirlibird is handmade (and signed) by me from on up-cycled aluminum can. Hang it in a place where the slightest breeze will set it flying, sit back and enjoy.
